Are you looking for a way to become more involved in your professional organization? Joining a committee is a perfect way to share your expertise and passion for emergency nursing while helping shape the future of our state council.

We are currently seeking committee members and chairs across all of our active committees, New members are always welcome; no matter your experience level, there's a place for you!

Committee meetings are held virtually in conjunction with our quarterly board meetings, which rotate across Vermont hospitals throughout the year. If you're interested in joining a committee or learning more, contact the Vermont ENA President vt.president@state.ena.org

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee keeps Vermont ENA members informed and connected. The committee manages our website, Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as member email communications, ensuring news, events, and opportunities are always up to date.

Education Committee

The Education Committee is responsible for planning and organizing Vermont ENA's learning events throughout the year. The committee coordinates our spring and fall Education Days which bring together emergency nurses from across the state for a day of clinical learning, professional development, and networking. The committee also plays a key role in planning the New England Regional Symposium (NERS), hosted by Vermont ENA in 2027.

Forensic Committee

The Forensic Committee supports care for some of our most vulnerable patients - survivors of violence, abuse, and assault. The committee promotes awareness, education, and best practices in forensic nursing and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) care, connecting Vermont nurses to training and resources in this specialized field.

Fundraising Committee

Plans and initiates Fund Raising events to correlate with ENA sponsored events.

Government Affairs Committee

The Government Affairs Committee monitors and advocates for legislation that improves emergency care at both the state and federal level working in conjunction with the ENA national office. The committee represents the voice of emergency nurses in the Vermont State House and participates in ENA's annual Day on the Hill in Washington, DC

QSIP Committee

The Quality, Safety and Injury Prevention Committee works to advance safe practice, to promote evidence-based initiatives that support community injury prevention efforts, and to champion a culture of safety. This committee supports community outreach programs like Stop the Bleed and safe driving education, connecting Vermont ENA members to meaningful work that extends beyond the walls of the ED.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee works to grow and strengthen our Vermont ENA community. The committee tracks and reports membership numbers, conducts outreach to current and prospective members, and plans initiatives to keep members engaged and connected. From welcome cards and appreciation raffles to the annual ENA 5K, we are always looking for new ways to celebrate our members.

Research Committee

The Research Committee supports Vermont ENA's commitment to evidence-based practice. The committee promotes awareness of current research, connects members to national ENA research initiatives and resources, and encourages Vermont nurses to engage with and contribute to the advancement of emergency nursing science.

Trauma and Pediatric Committee

The Trauma & Pediatric Committee coordinates state offerings of the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), ensuring Vermont nurses have access to these essential certifications. Committee members also participate in national ENA trauma and pediatric calls, keeping Vermont connected to the latest developments in these specialty areas.
